Irina Koren

I specialize in creating custom art, such as:  portraits, murals and faux finishes, fine art, mosaics, wedding art and more.

In my paintings I focus on uncovering the layers of human perception of the world and our place in it through juxtaposition of colors, textures, and concepts. I strive to evoke emotion and start a dialogue about the important concepts of modern life, our role in it, and the problems we are facing. I want to challenge the viewer to see familiar things in a new way.

The series of “zipper” paintings are a visual play on words to show division and change: what you see and what you don’t see, the difference between peace and chaos, the change of seasons. These paintings are meant to raise as many questions for the viewer as they answer; to give a puzzle for their eyes and their emotions.
